Daniel Phillip. Norwick, 82, of Plymouth

Daniel Phillip. Norwick, 82, of Plymouth passed away on Thursday April 11, 2024, at his home.

Born on November 9, 1942, he was the son of Theodore Norwick and Evelyn Rayburn.

He attended Chicago Vocational School graduating with the class of 1960. He proudly served his country and traveled the world while serving in the U.S Air Force as a flight mechanic.  Following his military service,  Dan then made a final career as a Union Electrician for the IBEW Local 153 for 30+ years and retired from this same local. He was known in the IBEW for his attention to detail and his incredible talents at troubleshooting complex electrical issues.

He was a hardworking man that taught his children those same values. Dan was very meticulous, took pride in his work and great with his hands. He could fix or repair anything he worked on and was known by his family to tweak or add new features to projects he was working on at home like his motorcycle, boat, and riding mower, which he enjoyed working on & servicing.

He enjoyed his gun collection, driving his Jeep Wrangler as well as reloading his own ammo, riding his motorcycle,  taking his kids skiing, tubing & camping when they were younger, and watching endless documentaries on the History Channel. Further, he loved to then educate anyone who would listen to his vast knowledge that he acquired from the History Channel. Dan was a member of the VFW, post 6695 in Plymouth as well as post 6919 in Culver. Dan also enjoyed spending time with his dog “Smokey '' who was a large, black husky and even built him a small house of his own, outside with a fully shingled roof where he preferred to sleep.

Dan is survived by his children: Kym Tabbert of Montana; John (Melissa) Norwick of Elkhart; Keith (Brenda) Norwick of Plymouth; Danielle Morrison of Plymouth and Marc Morrison of Plymouth; 9-Grandchildren, Which include Craig Clark, Taryn Clark, Jessica Norwick, Stephanie Norwick, Mariah Norwick, Jessica Ann Norwick, Nicholas Weith, Kathryn Morrison, Sydney Morrison and 13-great-grandchildren as well as his brother, Larry Norwick of Frankfort, IN.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents Theodore Norwick and Evelyn Rayburn,  his stepfather Robert Rayburn, his son Kevin Norwick and brother Jim Norwick.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at his daughter Danielle’s home on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM to 4:00PM. Please reach out to the family for directions.
