Geraldine R. “Gerry ‘MéMé’” Levesque, age 87, of Plymouth, IN passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 8:20 a.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor of Plymouth, IN.
Gerry was born to George W. and Ruby E. (Railsback) Smith on August 9, 1934 in Argos, IN. She was a lifelong resident of the Plymouth and Argos areas. She graduated from Argos High School in 1952. She married Leo Paul Levesque on June 27, 1952 and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2010. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, bowling, sports, and after graduating from high school she tried out for the South Bend Blue Sox. She loved her children and was immensely proud of the entire family.
Gerry is survived by her daughters: Gail Sargent of Argos, IN; Shelia (Phil) Kennedy of South Bend, IN; her son, Leo R. Levesque of Argos, IN; her 7 grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren; and her 4 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Ronald (Janet) Smith of Plymouth, IN; her many nieces and nephews: Jeffrey (Debbie) Smith; Melinda (Brian) Brennan; and Amy (Matthew) Carpenter.
Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruby Smith; her husband, Leo; her daughter, Valerie; her son, William; and her brother, Roger.
Visitation service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
Funeral service will follow on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Pastor Wyatt Smith of the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care presiding.
Burial will take place at New Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN).
