Gladys Viola Hite, age 96 of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in her home with her loving family surrounding her.
Gladys was born on March 26, 1926 in Lakeville, IN and was raised by Julius and Lulu (Hertel) Delanghe. She was a resident of the area most of her life. She married Arnold H. “Hank” Hite on March 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2013. She was a homemaker and cared for her husband who was disabled from an injury received during WWII. She was a country girl and farmed with her husband, together they were a very loving couple.
Gladys is survived by her sons: Terry Hite of Plymouth, IN; Larry Hite of Plymouth, IN; and Mike Hite of Plymouth, IN; her grandchildren: Ashley and Amber Rans; and her stepbrother, Virgil Delanghe of South Bend, IN.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, Lulu and Julius Delanghe; her husband, Arnold “Hank” Hite; her daughter, Kimberly Rans (6/30/2020); her daughter-in-law, Geraldine Hite (11/21/2022); her sisters: Elizabeth; and Clara; her brothers: Bob; Carl; and Junior.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Pastor Kristin Harp presiding.
Burial will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN).
A celebration of life will also be planned at a later date.
