Isaac “Pete” Sechrist, 65, of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in his home, surrounded by his family.
Born January 13, 1959 to Martha Hively and Carl Sechrist. He was raised in Bourbon, Indiana by his grandparents Lester and Freida Sechrist. He met his wife, Lori Petill in 1978 and they married on September 29, 1984. Pete drove semi-trucks for 40 years and retired from his driving career at Hehr International. He loved spending time with his wife and children, but especially his grandchildren who gave him life. He never had a bigger smile than when he held a baby in his arms. He enjoyed tinkering with his wheelhorse tractors and teaching his grandchildren how to drive them.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Lori Sechrist; children: Isaac (Crystal) Kleespie of Bourbon, IN; Alisha (Joseph) Sauls of Mishawaka, IN; Alison (Toby) Geyer of Fort Wayne, IN; and Andrea Sechrist of Mishawaka, IN; grandchildren: Isaac; Kennedy; Diego; Noe; Nariah; Gavin; Jace; Josiah; Jacob; Paul; Willow; Julius; Patrick; and one great-granddaughter, Violet; sisters: Vicki Harmon; Patty Stiles; Sue Castellano; and half-sisters: Christina; Jenny; and Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, daughter, Jessica Lee Sechrist, granddaughter, Malaysia Lynn Sechrist, and sisters: Kay Fisher and Cindy Spencer.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kristin Harp officiating.
The burial will take place in Stony Point Cemetery (7498 W 650 N, Etna Green, IN 46524).
