Jamie A. Reed, 60, of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka, IN.
Jamie was born the daughter of James and Ruth (Ooley) Baker on July 30, 1963, in Plymouth, IN. Jamie was a graduate of Bremen High School in 1981 and attended Ball State University and Ivy Tech. She married Robert Reed on May 27, 2007, at the Walnut Church of the Brethren. She was a “great wife and a best friend.” She worked with special needs children in the Triton School Corporation, worked as a waitress, but most recently at 3M Corporation in data entry. She was a member of the Argos Home Ec. Club, Red Hats Club of Plymouth, and Relay for Life. Throughout the 11 years of fighting cancer, Jamie never lost hope or her zest for life. She lived for her grandchildren, enjoyed garage sales, antiques, camping, and walking through the woods.
Jamie is survived by her husband Robert; her parents, James and Ruth Baker of Goshen, IN; her sons: Justin Scott; Christopher Scott; and Clifford Knepper; stepdaughter, Latosha Hammond; eight grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth (Duane) Jaskolka of Goshen, IN.
Jamie is preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Hodges, and a great-nephew.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St. Plymouth, IN 46563).
A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St. Plymouth, IN 46563) with Pastor Kristin Harp officiating.
The burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (Bourbon, IN).
Memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life (www.relayforlife.org/marshallcountyin) in honor of Jamie.
