Joan Miller, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Center for Hospice Care Raclin House, Mishawaka.
Born on April 21, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jerome King and Louise (Reed) Huffine. She attended Campbell High School in San Jose, California graduating with the class of 1958. On February 27, 1960, she married the love of her life Jimmie Miller, he preceded her in death on September 10, 2005.
Joan had the hardest job in the world, being the homemaker with making sure that every need is always met for the family that she loved adored. Joan was fun, outgoing and loved to tell a good joke. Always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. She enjoyed knitting Afghans, crocheting, painting watercolors, and of course her great friend and companion her chihuahua Charlie was right be her side the whole time making sure everything was done in order.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Jim) Chapman of Plymouth; son David (Gwen) Miller of Alabama, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Leslie and Karen.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie, brother Bill Reed and sister Cathy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow Life Celebrant James Smart officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery Plymouth.
