Jose Flores, Sr., 70, of Plymouth

Jose Flores, Sr., 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 8, 2024. Born on December 10, 1953 in Weslaco, TX, he was the son of Lasaro Flores and Santos Yevarra.

Joe was a proud graduate of Plymouth High School, where it was a significant milestone walking down the aisle at his graduation ceremony.

On June 16, 1982, he married the love of his life, Ventura Perales, in Plymouth, and together they created countless cherished memories while raising their children, Joe and Anna. Ventura preceded him in death on April 5, 2006. Throughout their life together, they were devoted members of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Dedicating many years of his career to Fairmont Homes, Joe worked as a Forklift Driver until his retirement in 2006. He had a passion for sports, particularly enjoying watching Notre Dame and the Texas Longhorns football games. In addition to his love for football, Joe participated in Horseshoe competitions and cherished the time spent with his nephews while fishing in Michigan. Later in life, he discovered a new hobby in gardening, which brought him much joy.

Joe is survived by his children, Joe Angel Flores and Anna Alicia Flores Jimenez and her husband Elias; grandchildren, Dominic, Cailyn, Joseph, Eliana, Viviana, Juliana, and Oliviana; siblings, Mary (Joe) Salazar, Irma (Urbano) Elizondo, Jesus Flores, Ruben Flores, and Gracie (Al) Fonseca; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ventura; parents, Lasaro and Santos; and siblings, Martha Hall, Janie Servantes, and Victoria Garcia.

Mass will be held at 12:30PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 611 N. Center Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Family and friends are welcome one hour prior to the start of the service at 11:30AM.
