Justin Ray Styers, 21 of LaPaz

Justin Ray Styers, 21, of Plymouth passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Justin was born on July 17, 2001 in South Bend to Scott and Beth (McCartney) Styers.  He graduated from LaVille High School and also graduated from the John Glenn Building Trades Program and then went on to work at Heckaman Homes in Nappanee.

Justin was the definition of a man’s man.  You wouldn’t catch Justin in anything other than a pair of jeans and his favorite hat.  He had a OBS diesel black Ford F250 that was lifted, and it was his pride and joy.  He loved rolling coal and waking the neighbors up with the sound of his exhaust.  Justin enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  He loved spending time with his family and cuddling his dogs!  Justin had a smile that would light up any room. Those closest to Justin know that his tough exterior was just a cover for his soft, loving, caring personality that would do absolutely anything for anyone.

In his younger years, Justin loved riding with his Pappy (Ronnie McCartney) to Michigan to get produce for Mac’s Market.  They both loved listening to their Randy Travis cassette the whole way up and back, Justin’s favorite song was “If I Didn’t Have You”.  Justin enjoyed helping work at Mac’s Market unloading things, helping customers, and spending time with everyone at the store.  He even picked up a line from his Pappy, “Have a great day and a better tomorrow.”  Justin also loved working in the shop with his Grandpa Styers.  He helped his Grandpa Styers build a dune buggy, work on cars, and weld many different projects over the years. One of Justin’s talents/passions was working with Machinery/Heavy Equipment; he loved leveling or plowing the driveway with a big John Deere tractor, operating the backhoe, and running the forklift to unload trucks of produce at Mac’s Market.

Justin loved life and was always his genuine true self.  Justin always loved the holidays because he always loved joking around with his uncles and cousins at Family Christmases.  He was looking forward to the holidays this year, but most of all Justin was excited to become an Uncle this upcoming Spring.  Justin was looking so forward to being the Uncle to teach his niece or nephew how to work on cars, how to fish, and how to ride a dirt bike.  Justin was always eager to help others and had such a big heart!  Most of all Justin was a loving, supportive son and brother who will be missed more than anything in this world!  He had a knack for making everyone’s day brighter, just by being in it, that was one of his many talents.

Justin is survived by his parents Scott and Beth Styers of Plymouth, his brother Brandon (Ashley) Styers of Plymouth, Maternal grandparents; Ronnie (Donna) McCartney of Plymouth and Nancy McCartney of South Bend, and his paternal grandmother Linda Styers of Plymouth.  Aunts and Uncles Include; Mark (Susan) Styers, Brien McCartney, Neil (Jolie) McCartney. Cousins Include; Mindi (Adam) Martin, Tanner, Trey, and Makenna McCartney and AJ, Victoria, and Joseph Styers.

Justin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Steve Styers.
