Kathryn R. Maynard, 89, of Bourbon

BOURBON - Kathryn R. Maynard, 89, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 at her home in the loving care of her family.

Kathryn was born to Berchett and Lillian Viola (Sawkill) Howard on June 8, 1933 in New Castle. In 1948, Kathryn and George W. Maynard were united in marriage in Richmond. George preceded her in death in November of 1994.

Kathryn was a lifelong member of the United Pentecostal Church, spending the last 8 years in the United Pentecostal Church of Bourbon. She was also a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of New Castle. Kathryn was devoted to her faith. She and George opened a mission church in Florida where she also learned to play the piano. During their time in Florida, Kathryn also received her Bachelor’s Degree from Purpose Institute in Tallahassee through the Pentecostal Church. She retired from General Motors in Anderson.

Surviving Kathryn are her children: Kathryn (Robert) Ford of Bourbon and Georgia Ann (Mike) Rigney of Zolfo Springs, FL; grandchildren: Jason “Matthew” (Donna) Ford, Shanna (Tony) Nelson, Kassandra (Zane) Ragsdale, Andrew “Andy” (Amy) Rigney, Amy (Kurt) Rice, GW (Tammy) Rigney; Great-Grandchildren: Jason Ford II, Alex (Cathryn) Ford, Meagan (Robert) Carter, Ethan Ford, Arianna (John) Bontrager, Brianne Nelson, Karah Nelson, Marissa Nelson, Kallista Ragsdale, Keegan Ragsdale, Ashley (Andy) Aguilar, Amanda (Tyler) Alden, Aubrey Rigney, Drew Rigney, JW (Stevee) McEwen, Michael McEwen, Alyssa McEwen, Hunter Rigney, Logan Rigney, Meadow Rigney, and Cody Rigney; Great-Great Grandchildren: Aralyn Ford, Asher Ford, Evan Alden, Maddie McEwen, Eli McEwen, and Quinton McEwen; and her sister, Donna Jean Thurman of New Castle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and brothers, Shelby, George, and James Howard; and grandson, Robert Shane Ford.

Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the United Pentecostal Church of Bourbon, 201 N. Bourbon Street, Bourbon, IN 46504. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Matt Cottrill, will be held in the church immediately following at 6pm.

Burial will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10am in New Castle, IN at South Mound Cemetery. Friends and Family are welcome to attend the graveside services.
