Pauline I. Baughman, age 98 of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing of Plymouth, IN,
Pauline was born on July 7, 1925, to Marvin and Myrta (Johnson) Maurer in Walkerton, IN. She was a lifelong resident growing up on a small farm near Tyner and was a 1943 graduate of Tyner High School. She retired from Urey Middle School (John Glenn School Corporation) after 20 years as a secretary. She had also been a waitress, a switchboard operator with United Telephone Co. Pauline also worked at Farmers State Bank in LaPaz. She enjoyed flowers, walking, knitting, crocheting, playing the clarinet in the high school band, and her family. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Plymouth, a past member of Tyner IOOF Lodge and Ladies Auxiliary at the hospital.
Pauline married Eugene H. Baughman on May 11, 1945. He preceded in death in 2018. She is survived by her daughters: Ann Lynn LeHue of Plymouth, IN and Linda (Marty) Lester of Traverse City, MI; her son Lanny (Patty) Baughman of Walkerton, IN.; her nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandson Jay Baughman, great-grandson Bobbie Daggett and her sister Dorothy Mishler.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563). The funeral will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Krieg officiating. A burial will follow at Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, IN.
