Phyllis Joanne Cartwright, age 94, of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 in St. Joseph Medical Center of Plymouth, IN.
Phyllis was born on February 26, 1929 to James O. and Clara Lavinia (Miller) Dickson in Plymouth, IN. She graduated from Plymouth High School. She married Robert D. Cartwright on August 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1986. She worked for United Technologies. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Phyllis is survived by her sons: Phil (Sherry) Cartwright; Jack (Sandra) Cartwright; her grandchildren: Misty (Jayson) Doerscher; Jillian (Steven) Boyer; Matt Cartwright; Kyle Cartwright; and her great-grandchildren: Hudson Boyer; Weston Boyer; and Lincoln Boyer.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, John Cartwright; her brothers: James E. Dickson; and Leon D. Dickson.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Kristin Harp presiding.
The burial will take place in New Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN).
Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice in honor of Phyllis.
