Quintella Jean Chaney passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth, IN.
Quin was born in South Bend, IN on January 10, 1926 to Esther (Michael) and James Weldon Robbins. She was raised by her grandparents, Harley and Tressa Michael. Quin graduated from Central High School in August of 1943.
On February 18, 1945, Quin was married to Frank A. Chaney. Frank died June 21, 1991. They had three children: Michael M. (Cindy) Chaney; Kevin B. (Donna) Chaney; and Michele (Greg) Chaney Vancza.
Quin was secretary-receptionist at Marshall-Starke Development Center for 25 years. She retired in 1991 and began volunteering at Plymouth High School in the Guidance Office in 1993. She retired in 2016. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and a member of First United Methodist Church of Plymouth, IN. She formerly worked with the Marshall County Blueberry festival as a board member, secretary/treasurer, and volunteer. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, reading, and playing cards.
Quin leaves behind her three children; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; along with a brother, Dean V. Brennan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
Burial will take place at New Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County (314 E. Jefferson St., Plymouth, IN 46563) or to the Marshall County Humane Society (11165 13th Rd. P.O. Box 22, Plymouth, IN 46563 or www.mchsshelter.org).
