Rex J. Schroeder, 72, of Plymouth

Rex J. Schroeder, 72, of Plymouth, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The son of Earl and Diana (Holland) Schroeder, Rex was born on June 6, 1952 at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth.

Rex proudly graduated from LaVille High School with the Class of 1971. Going on to do something that he loved, he worked as a dedicated cook at the Chuckwagon Restaurant and Pat’s Bar for numerous years. His passion for serving others extended beyond these establishments; he also worked in catering, bringing joy to many through his love of food. Rex’s family fondly remembers his delicious lasagna and his famous "garbage" pizza, which was a delightful creation filled with an array of toppings.

Rex had a keen eye for antiques, often visiting sales to find items that needed repair. He reveled in restoring them, showcasing his creativity and craftsmanship. In his younger years, he spent quality time with his brother, Mike, purchasing cars in need of renovation. Together, they would breathe new life into these vehicles, selling them to fund their next project. He also enjoyed working around his home, tending to his flower gardens.

Believing that you should do what you want to do, Rex lived his life to the fullest. While he could be stubborn, he was a faithful friend who was caring and steadfast in the things he believed in.

Rex is survived by his brother, Michael (Dee Ann) Schroeder; along with nephews, Matt, Mike and Terry.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Diana; brother, Roger Schroeder; and nephew, Andrew Schroeder.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Rex will be laid to rest with his parents at Fairmount Cemetery in Plymouth.
