Robert “Butch” K. Kepler, 85, of Plymouth

Robert “Butch” K. Kepler, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on November 4, 1938, in Plymouth, Indiana he was the son of Henry and Edith (Gordon) Kepler

He attended Argos High School, graduating with the class of 1958. Butch would go on to Ball State University on a baseball scholarship, receiving his degree in Business and graduating with the class of 1962. On January 3, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart Carole Payne at Argos United Methodist Church, she survives.

Robert was an extremely hardworking man who owned the Argos Newsstand and Louie’s Tavern. He managed the Sherwin Williams store in Plymouth for 32 years and owned the Trading Post Bait Shop before retiring. Outspoken and a man that was never short of words would adequately describe him. However, behind his gruff exterior you would find a gentle and loving man.

Butch enjoyed going hunting and even trained his black labs to duck hunt with him. Fishing on Pretty and Meyer’s Lake and getting a round of 18 on the golf course were some of his favorite past times. Coaching softball in his earlier years was also a highlight for him.

He is survived by his wife Carole of Plymouth; daughters: Cindy (Roger) Danielson and Kristi (Paul) Martindale of Plymouth; grandchildren: Braxdon Davidson, Trevor Danielson, Gabby Ruiz, Aiden Ruiz, Michael (Samantha) Martindale, Megan (Ryne) Weppler; great-grandchild Mason; siblings: Al (Betty) Kepler and Sue (Tom) Christenson.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

Per the wishes of the family a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
