Susan M. Elliott, 80, of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Plymouth, IN.
Susan was born on October 11, 1943 in Morristown, New Jersey to Joseph J. and Sophie (Westura) Tomala. She married Dennis Elliott on July 2, 1968. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Plymouth, IN. She was a special education teacher in Plymouth and Knox until her retirement. She enjoyed games, dominoes, shopping, the beach, traveling, Elvis, Charles Dickens, and Robert Frost.
Susan is survived by her husband, Dennis Elliott; her daughters: Lora (Pete) Bieghler of Syracuse, IN; Lisa (Mike) Welker of Greenwood, IN; her son, Leigh Elliott of Plymouth, IN; and her grandchildren: Alec Bieghler; Peighton Elliott; and Morgan Welker.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Irene Vialard; and her brother, Joseph Tomala.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46504).
A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Stueve of Tyner United Methodist Church and Pastor Kayla Grehl of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.
The burial will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery (Bourbon, IN).
Memorial donations may be made in Susan’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation (200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131).
