
Vickey J. Daugherty, 79, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
He was born on August 20, 1945, in Plymouth, Indiana to Russell and Dorothy (Reinholt) Daugherty. Vickey proudly served his country in the Army attached to the field artillery with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.
After being honorably discharged from the military, he was a Semi-Truck driver for 30 years and delivered cars for Antique Motors. He was known as a man with a great sense of humor who was also tougher than nails and sometimes outspoken. Vickey enjoyed camping, playing horseshoes, attending the covered bridge festival, and reuniting with his brothers at the Howard County Vietnam Veterans reunion in Kokomo.
He is survived by his sons, Vickey (Beverly) Daugherty II of Winamac; Danny (Stacie) Daugherty of Rensselaer; siblings: Robert Daugherty of Argos; Kathryn Holcomb of Lowell; Luther (Joan) Daugherty of Lowell; Carolyn Saylor of Grovertown; Barb Gouker of Plymouth; Jane (Dan) Miller of Plymouth; Harold (Phyllis) Daugherty of Plymouth; 4-grandchildren, 5-great-grandchildren with 1 great on the way as well as several nieces and nephews.
Vickey is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Daugherty, brothers: Jerry, Don, Jim and Tom Daugherty.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Chuck Krieg officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth with military honors rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Am. Legion Post #27.
