The 2024 General Election in Parke County saw a robust voter turnout of 70.72%, with 6,725 ballots cast out of 9,509 registered voters.

All 17 precincts in the county reported their results, and all 36 pieces of voting equipment functioned as programmed, ensuring a smooth electoral process. Parke County saw a clear preference for Republican candidates across federal, state, and local races. 

Key Race Outcomes

  1. Public Question – Constitutional Amendment
    • Yes: 3,232 votes (53.78%)
    • No: 2,778 votes (46.22%)
  2. President and Vice-President of the U.S.
    • Donald Trump / J.D. Vance (Republican): 5,157 votes (77.43%)
    • Kamala Harris / Tim Walz (Democrat): 1,371 votes (20.59%)
    • Other Candidates: Minor vote shares included the Libertarian ticket (1.43%) and write-in candidates.
  3. U.S. Senate
    • Jim Banks (Republican): 4,767 votes (76.71%)
    • Valerie McCray (Democrat): 1,274 votes (20.50%)
    • Andrew Horning (Libertarian): 173 votes (2.78%) Jim Banks secured a decisive victory.
  4. Governor and Lieutenant Governor
    • Mike Braun / Suzanne Crouch (Republican): 4,502 votes (71.00%)
    • Democratic and Libertarian candidates: The Democratic ticket garnered 23.31% of the vote, while the Libertarians secured 5.69%.
  5. Attorney General
    • Todd Rokita (Republican): 4,985 votes (77.21%)
    • Destiny Wells (Democrat): 1,471 votes (22.79%)
  6. U.S. Representative, District 8
    • Mark Messmer (Republican): 5,016 votes (77.78%)
    • Erik Hurt (Democrat): 1,254 votes (19.44%)
    • K. Richard Fitzlaff (Libertarian): 179 votes (2.78%)

Local Contests

County Council At-Large (Three Elected)

J.B. Butier, Matthew C. Helderman, and Mary Alice Gregg were elected to the County Council At-Large, showcasing strong Republican representation.

  • J.B. Butier (Republican): 3,997 votes (31.00%)
  • Matthew C. Helderman (Republican): 3,738 votes (28.90%)
  • Mary Alice Gregg (Republican): 3,673 votes (28.48%)
  • Chance A. Hoover (Democrat): 1,487 votes (11.53%)

Rockville Town Council (Three Elected)

David Brown, Liddy Dowd-Wright, and Steven G. Waltz secured seats on the Rockville Town Council.

  • David Brown (Republican): 729 votes (31.68%)
  • Liddy Dowd-Wright (Republican): 595 votes (25.86%)
  • Steven G. Waltz (Republican): 524 votes (22.77%)
  • Kevin Michael Callans (Democrat): 453 votes (19.69%)

School Board Elections

  • Clay Community School Board, District 3
    • Jennifer Karn Clodfelter: 154 votes (52.38%)
    • Thomas Keith Reberger: 140 votes (47.62%)
  • North Central Parke School Board, District 4
    • Kimberly Ann Brown Cooper ran unopposed, receiving 2,862 votes (100%).
  • North Central Parke School Board, District 5
    • Elise Pratt ran unopposed with 2,664 votes (100%).
  • North Central Parke School Board, District 7
    • Nicholas R. Sauter: 1,740 votes (59.92%)
    • Carrie T. Ingram: 1,164 votes (40.08%)
  • Southwest Parke School Board, District 1
    • Daniel J. (DJ) Harkrider ran unopposed and secured 1,591 votes (100%).

Judicial Retention Votes

Parke County voters also participated in retention votes for several judicial positions, with the majority favoring retaining the judges:

  • IN Supreme Court (Justice Rush): 69.54% voted "Yes" for retention.
  • IN Supreme Court (Justice Massa): 69.94% voted "Yes" for retention.
  • IN Supreme Court (Justice Molter): 70.27% voted "Yes" for retention.
  • Court of Appeals, District 1 (Judge Foley): 70.44% voted "Yes" for retention.
  • Court of Appeals, District 4 (Judge Pyle III): 70.46% voted "Yes" for retention.
