\n\nGREENCASTLE- Clayton Franklin Everson, 91, of Greencastle, Indiana and formerly of Rockville, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle.\n\nHe was a cheesemaker for Kraft Foods in Marshall for 15 years until 1970 and retired from Funks/Ciba-Geigy Seeds in Rockville after 22 years of service retiring in 1992.\n\nClayton was born October 13, 1932, in Jamestown, Indiana to the late Frantz and Nannie (Woodall) Everson.\n\nHis wife of 69 years, Betty Lou Hutson Everson whom he married May 9, 1954, in Bloomingdale survives. Also surviving, son, Larry (wife Lisa) Everson of Rockville, daughter, Cheryl (husband Keith) Rife of Bainbridge, daughter, Nancy (husband Rodney) Wehr of Ardmore, Tennessee, son Randy (wife Bev) Everson of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, brother, Tom (wife Katy) Everson of Bloomingdale; 13 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.\n\nHe was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, Ivan, James and Joe Everson; sisters, Jean Smiley, Marilyn Watts, and Patricia Tamosaites; grandchildren, Chad Lee and Randi Lynn Wallace, great-granddaughter, Rayven Kincaid.\n\nClayton was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving from 1949-1953 and stationed in Alaska. He was a member of the Rockville Christian Church, American Legion Fellenzer post 48 in Rockville and Crawfordsville Order of the Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.\n\nServices will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 28, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Senior Minister Josh Captain officiating. Burial with military graveside honors by Parke County veterans will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.
