\n\nDonald Dean Wirth, 78, of Bloomingdale, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at his residence. Born April 30, 1945, in Parke County, Indiana, he was the son of Neal Wirth and Gracie Mae Riddle Wirth. He married Emma Lou Hill on March 2, 1963. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2010.\n\nDon was a 1963 graduate of Turkey Run High School. He was a member of I.U.O.E. #841 and retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He owned and operated Wirth’s Caramel Corn from 1979 to 2019, when his grandson took over the business.\n\nDon was a member of Kingman Lodge #314 F&AM. He enjoyed driving around Parke County, bird watching, following local sports, and being spoiled by his grandchildren.\n\nDon is survived by 2 daughters, Darla Wirth of Bloomingdale, and Shelli Toycen (Nate) of Bloomingdale; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Connie Taylor of Rockville. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene Flaurr (John) of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews.\n\nDon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; son, Roger D. Wirth; 2 sisters, Deborah Riley, and Delores Norman; and 3 brothers, Larry, Morris, and Dennis Wirth.\n\nVisitation will be Wednesday, August 16, at 5:00 p.m. until a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m., at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 East High Street, Rockville.\n\nFuneral Services will be Thursday, August 17, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Keith McIntyre officiating.
