Harold Eugene Roderick, 83, of Clinton, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute.
He retired from Olin/Flexel in Covington. He was born December 10, 1940, in Danville, Illinois to the late Wilbur Roderick and Thelma Cole Roderick.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Alayne Mankin Roderick whom he married April 13, 1962, in Covington; one son, Martin (Marcelene Bennett) Roderick of Newport, four daughters, Tammy Potts of Clinton, Shelly Roderick of Clinton, Kimberly (Brian) Roderick- Dowers of Lodi, and Stacy (Beck Crawford) Roderick of Attica; three grandchildren, Jesse (Lynsey) Thomann of Zionsville, Jennifer Thomann of Indianapolis, and Kayla Morgan of Clinton; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Bernard, Gary, Robert, James and Charles Roderick; two sisters, Patsy Roderick and Roberta Hinote.
He was a 1958 graduate of Newport Highschool and a member of the Quaker Church.
He loved mushroom hunting, searching for Indian artifacts, and coon hunting. He was a huge IU basketball fan. Plus, he had a sweet tooth for snacks. He just loved the simple things in life.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Gooch Funeral Home in Rockville, 112 W Howard St. Rockville, with Pastor Ramona Trover officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Wednesday.
