Joe York, 68, of Waveland, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Compassus Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 2, 1956 to Clifton and Dimple (Gentry) York in Crawfordsville. Joe married Lizzy Wright on April 12, 1986 in Greensburg.
He was a graduate of South Montgomery High School, Class of 1974, and earned his Mechanic Certificate from Lincoln Tech. Joe worked for City of Crawfordsville Street Department. He was a member of the RC Club and First Assembly Church. Joe enjoyed building model cars and going to car shows in the local area.
Joe will be missed by his wife, Lizzy; mother, Dimple York; children, Aaron (Laura) York and Meghan (Jon) Ehrhardt; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Tiberius York; brothers, Roger (Robin) York and Steve (Jennifer) York; sisters, Mary Morrison and Susan Korte; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton; and sister, Tammy Neier.
Cremation was chosen with a private family gathering at a later date.
