Kathleen "Kathy" (Payne) Sanders, 75, of Waynetown, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Danville, IL on November 17, 1949 to the late George & Nina (Young) Payne.
Kathy graduated from Covington High School. She worked at St Claire Hospital in Crawfordsville in the laundry room for many years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
On February 11, 2003 she married the love of her life, Tom Sanders, who survives. She is also survived by her three children, Ron (Robin) Crowder of North Carolina, Bill Crowder of Crawfordsville and Rhonda Niece of Crawfordsville, four grandchildren, Jessica (Micah) Crumpler, David (Tiffani) Lewis, Albreanna (Kurtis) Bussell and Cierra (Rick) Hockett; nine great grandchildren, Kaylee, Spencer, Asher, Mallorie, Oscar, Freyja, Isabella, Ashlynne, and Maddison; and two brothers, Benny (Jackie) Payne and Eric (Libby) Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Payne; a sister, Thelma McManomy; and a granddaughter, Ashley Crowder.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road, in Waynetown on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 11:00 am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dan Mathews officiating.
Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
