\n\nMarylin R. Allen, 85, of Marshall, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at Clinton Gardens. She was born September 25, 1937, in Bloomingdale, the daughter of Roy R. Frazier and Mary E. Blacketer Frazier. She married J. Robert Allen on November 5, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2006.\n\nMarylin was a 1955 graduate of Marshall High School. She owned the former Allen Insurance Agency in Bloomingdale and then was the Parke County Assessor for 16 years. She was a member of the Marshall Federated Church, the Covered Bridge Art Association, and the former Hedges Chapter #51 O.E.S. in Bloomingdale.\n\nMarylin was a true Parke County Socialite. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, painting, and singing karaoke.\n\nShe is survived by her son Roger L. Allen of Marshall; 3 grandsons, Bradley Cole Allen (Kate) of Bloomingdale, Jason Roberts of Rockville, and Joseph Roberts (Laura) of Marshall. Also surviving are 4 great-grandchildren: Everett James Allen and Charlotte Jean Allen of Bloomingdale; and Barrett Roberts and Eli Roberts of Marshall.\n\nMarylin is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Jean Smith; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Allen.\n\nGraveside services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Cemetery, east of Marshall, with Pastor Brian Holt officiating.
