\n\nCharles “Paw Paw Charlie” Engle, 78, of Bellmore, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at his residence. He was born July 19, 1944, in Judson, Indiana, the son of William T. Engle and Rachel Alberta Scott Engle. He married Sue Martin on March 8, 1969, in Hollandsburg, Indiana, she preceded him in death on May 18, 2016.\n\nPaw Paw Charlie graduated from Turkey Run High School and was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, riding his Ranger and driving his truck. He was a truck driver for 61 years and retired as an owner/operator with TransCorr.\n\nCharlie was a member of VFW Paul Taylor Post #1752 and American Legion Post #48 of Rockville.\n\nHe is survived by his companion, Becky Wildman of Bellmore; daughter, Alisa Exline (Jose) of Panama City, Panama; 2 sons, Tom Engle (Gail) of Madison Heights, Virginia, and Marty Engle (Chris) of Bellmore, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, C.J. Engle, Marcus Engle, Tyler Engle, Katie Hill, Josh Hill, Matthew Hill, Brook Engle, C.D. Engle, Jessica Caldwell Bridgham, Joey Tucker, Tiara Witty, and Brian Tucker; and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Tom Engle of Fincastle, Indiana; 5 sisters-in-law, Janet Cannon (Ron) of Rockville, Connie Griffin of Mecca, Laura Dickey of Greencastle, Kay Foxworthy of Rosedale, and Jackie Earnhart of Elkart; brother-in-law, Larry Martin of Rockville; and several nieces and nephews.\n\nCharlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Sandra Hill; and sister, Sally Ann Swift.\n\nVisitation will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 East High Street in Rockville. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Mt.
