Shawn Robert Piatt, 39, passed away surrounded by his family at Union Hospital on April 14, 2025.
Shawn was born to Robert and Susan (Goodrich) Piatt on December 3, 1985 in Brazil.
Shawn graduated from Northview High School in 2004. In the spring of 2005, Shawn met the love of his life, Elizabeth Nichole Francis. In 2006, Shawn and Nikki welcomed their daughter, Emily. On July 7, 2007, Shawn married Nikki. He loved music and could often be found playing guitar at the Terre Haute Music Venue. He played in many bands, most recently, The Beautiful Display. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games, especially The Elder Scrolls Online. More than anything, Shawn loved spending time with his girls, Nikki and Emily. For several years, Shawn worked at Taghleaf Industries.
Shawn was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Goodrich.
Shawn is survived by his wife Nikki, their daughter, Emily, his parents, Rob and Susan Piatt, three brothers, Ryan Piatt, Trent Piatt (Lylia), and Adam Piatt, paternal grandparents, Richard and Janice Piatt, maternal grandmother, Linda Goodrich, as well as many well-loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in laws.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 18 from 12-2 P.M. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service will begin at 2 p,m. Cremation will follow.
