Steven L. Cooper, 79, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, in his home.
He was born February 11, 1945, in Vermillion County Hospital to the late Kathryn Myers Cooper and Royce Cooper. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Rockville Community Schools. Also, he worked for C.F. Industries in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nancy Weaver Cooper whom he married June 2, 1962, a daughter Pam Busenbark; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Tiffany) Busenbark and Staci (Derek) Pharr; four great grandchildren, Garrick, Brysten, Myla and Baylee Busenbark; two nieces, one nephew and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, Jack (Lela) Cooper, sister, Doris (Bill) Loy and son-in-law, Mike Busenbark.
Steve was a 1963 graduate of Rockville High School. Throughout the years he enjoyed following sports and activities of his grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and all of them going racing for the weekends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
