
Terry Lee Douglas, 72, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Marshall, Indiana.
Terry was a proud and dedicated Union Carpenter with over 30 years of experience.
Born November 12, 1952, in Lafayette, Indiana, he was the son of James Douglas and Patricia Morehouse Williams. A 1971 graduate of Pioneer High School in Royal Center, Indiana, Terry’s life was marked by hard work, passion, and love for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Ann Griffin, whom he married on December 10, 1994, in West Lafayette, Indiana. Terry’s legacy lives on through his nine children: Nathan (Amanda) Slabach of Bloomington, Ryan (Melanie) Douglas of Lafayette, Matthew (Asuncion) Douglas of Lafayette, Stuart (Gwen) Blackwood of Graniteville, Vermont, Toby (Sara) Blackwood of Brown County, Indiana, Trevor (Jennifer) Blackwood of Lafayette, Jonathan (Katherine) Griffin of Bloomington, Nolan Douglas of Rockville, and Brenna (Chase) Douglas of Bloomington. He was a cherished grandfather to 14 grandchildren.
Terry is also survived by his mother, Patricia Morehouse Williams, and three brothers; Steve (Johanna) Bryant of New York, Ralph Hardy of Logansport, and Dwight (Valerie) Hardy of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his father, James Douglas, and daughter-in-law, Sierra Douglas.
Terry had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He loved music, especially country, blues, and oldies and had a passion for history, particularly biographies. A true farmer at heart, he poured his love and energy into his livestock hobby farm, “Big Hill Farm.” Above all, Terry will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
The family will host a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3rd, at Turkey Run State Park in the Tennis Court Shelter.
