Violet Lucille Lawson Seward, 84, of Waveland, Indiana passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, in her residence.
She was the retired owner of Minute Maid Services in Lafayette. She was born October 25, 1939, in Rockville, Indiana to the late Robert Lawson and Eva Jackman Lawson.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lee Seward whom she married July 24, 1960. Also surviving, one son, Ronald (Tammie) Seward; twin daughters, Linda K. (Dan) Hopkins and Glenda M. (John) Latham; one sister, Waneta “Bunny” Harmon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, infant Charles Wood, Donald, Dale and Kenneth Lawson and a sister, Irene Reyher.
She was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church and Howard Township Home Economics Club, and a former member of Badger Grove Baptist Church in Brookston. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles, sewing teddy bears and puppy pillows. She was an active volunteer at the Parke County Food Pantry in Rockville for 14 years.
Services will be 12 noon Friday, February 2, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Pastor Keith B. McIntrye officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 12 noon Friday at Gooch Funeral Home.
