An accident Thursday afternoon shut down I-70 for several hours.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames told GIANT fm WREB and The Putnam County Post, a dump truck driven by Samuel Bays, 43, of Terre Haute, was traveling westbound on I-70 near the 30 mile marker, when he experienced issues.
The dump truck suffered a blown tire on the driver's side, traveled to the south side of I-70 through the median and rolled over on the driver's side before coming to a stop in the eastbound lanes.
Bays was transported to the Putnam County Hospital for minor injuries and the wreck resulted in the interstate being closed for four hours.
The Indiana State Police were assisted on the scene by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, INDOT, Putnam County EMS and Curtis Wrecker.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, it was the second wreck both their department and the Indiana State Police responded to involving a dump truck.
