The event, which is both a run and walk colored run, begins at 9 a.m. at Big Walnut Sports Park.
Police will be in the forefront on Aug. 10 for the second annual Cherries and Berries Color 5K.
The event, which is both a run and walk colored run, begins at 9 a.m. at Big Walnut Sports Park.
"This is a fun color run for all ages and abilities on a fully paved trail. People can walk or run and be blasted with colored powder. It is such a blast," event organizer Amanda Brown told The Putnam County Post.
According to Brown, all funds raised will go to the Putnam County Fraternal Order of Police to assist with Christmas Santa Drop and Shop with a Cop.
"I love letting the community see law enforcement in a different light while enjoying the parks and amenities of Greencastle. This event is full of smiles. This will give families an opportunity to do something fun together and create memories. We do not have an event like this around here and it is truly special to see everyone dressed up and covered in color. While building memories, they are helping put money back in the community for the various events that the FOP puts on
Anyone age six or younger is free to participate, but must register in order to receive a shirt. Registration can take place in person at the Greencastle Police Department or by registering at https://runsignup.com/Race/IN/Greencastle/CherriesandBerriesColorRun5k.
Brown said the event is also in need of volunteers and anyone interested can contact her at long.amanda72@icloud.com.
