Ketaklarity helps residents achieve health goals

A nurse anesthesiologist has spent the last two years helping Putnam County residents achieve health goals and treat pain with the use of ketamine infusion clinic.
Ketklarity, which is located at 833 Indianapolis Road, Suite B, Greencastle, opened in 2022 and, according to Dr. Dean Sheffler, it has helped residents suffering from various chronic mental illness as well as pain.

"Ketalklarity is a ketamine infusion clinic to help those suffering from chronic mental illness such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar and suicidal thoughts," Sheffler told The Putnam County Post.

In addition, he has helped treat chronic neuropathic pain, which is pain caused from nerve inflammation or damage. Sheffler said patients are treated with IV ketamine.

"For those who have never heard of ketamine infusion therapy, they hear the word ketamine and immediately think of a horse tranquilizer or a party drug used by college students. However, Ketamine is a powerful medication that has been used safely for decades in the medical setting by experienced providers," Sheffler said.

He said Ketamine has been highly effective in treating mental illness and it is something he administers on a daily basis both in the operating room and at Ketaklarity.

"Ketamine infusions are among the safest, quickest acting, most effective treatments for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD and suicidal ideation. Over 160 clinical trials conducted over the last 24 years by the world's leading scientific institutions have proven the effectiveness and safety of ketamine therapy for mental health," he said.

Sheffler said ketamine is able to awaken parts of the brain that have been shut down to anxiety and depression. He said the changes occur "much quicker and last significantly longer than traditional medications."

According to Sheffler, Ketaklarity offers IV vitamin infusions and the process delivers vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly to the bloodstream for maximum absorption.

"This allows the nutrients to be readily available at the cellular level. By using vitamin IV infusions in this way, we can safely deliver larger doses that would not otherwise be tolerated orally," Sheffler said.

He said Ketaklarity offers a variety of vitamin IV infusions ranging from immunity boosters and anti-aging to athletic performance enhancement, energy boosters and hangover recovery.

"I have seen firsthand how devastating and all-encompassing depression can be. That is why I have it my goal at Ketaklarity to help as many people as possible take back their lives and start living again. The thing I enjoy most about Ketaklarity is being blessed with the opportunity to help people who feel helpless, depressed or on the verge of giving up on life. It is amazing to watch the transition my patients make from the first day I meet them to the time their treatment is finished. I have had many patients tell me the treatment changed their life or saved them," Sheffler said.

Ketalklarity is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone seeking more information is asked to call 765-630-8315 or email info@ketalklarity.com
