Putnam County Republican Party reorganizes with familiar faces

The Party held its reorganization meeting to elect leadership for the next four years.

For the third time, Indiana State Representative Beau Baird has been elected Chairman of the Putnam County Republican Party.

The Party held its reorganization meeting to elect leadership for the next four years. Baird held off a challenge from Liz Fiscus by a margin of 21-2.

"It is an honor to be re-elected as chairman, and I am proud of what we have accomplished -- flipping the Greencastle City Council and electing the first Republican mayor in 38 years," Baird told The Putnam County Post.

In addition to Baird, Tracy Bridges was tabbed as Vice Chairman, Scott Bieniek was re-elected to Secretary and Justin Long was re-elected to Treasurer. The last three positions faced no opposition.

"We are excited to continue building on the strength and success of the Putnam County Republican Party. Over the past several years, our party has worked tirelessly to expand conservative leadership at every level of local government, and we remain committed to ensuring continued Republican victories in the years ahead," Baird said.

As for his goals moving forward, Baird said the local party's focus will be on several things.

"Moving forward, our focus is on maintaining our successes, supporting strong candidates, engaging with voters, and keeping the party financially strong. Local government has a big impact on daily life, and we will keep working to ensure Putnam County has solid, conservative leadership," Baird said.
