The museum will now be open from 12-4 p.m. on Sundays.

The Putnam County Museum is pleased to announce new weekend opening hours.

The museum will now be open from 12-4 p.m. on Sundays. These hours are in addition to their hours on weekdays from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

“Opening on the weekend has been a long-time goal of the Putnam County Museum,” says Executive Director Rachel Lewis. “We believe that making our collection and exhibits available to those who work during our weekday hours is essential going forward. We hope that more families and working people will be able to enjoy the museum with these updated hours.”

The Putnam County Museum strives to collect, preserve, and interpret the county’s natural, historical, and cultural heritage. Exhibits on the Monon Railway, WJNZ Radio Station, and Hoosier naturalist Willis Blatchley are currently on display, along with other items and information about the heritage of the county. Upcoming exhibits include the 2025 Annual Student Art Show, Forging Ahead: Blacksmithing in Putnam County, and more.

The Putnam County Museum is located at 1105 North Jackson Street, just north of downtown Greencastle. Admission to the museum is free.
