
Linda Kaye Walters, 53, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on April 7, 2025.
Linda was born to Jim Goodrich and Julie (Huntley) VanArsdale on November 13, 1971 in Terre Haute.
Linda graduated from Riverton Parke High School in 1990. On May 16, 1992, Linda married the love of her life, and her high school sweetheart, Darin Walters. Linda began attending Indiana State University in 1995, in 1997, she earned her Associates in Nursing, in 2006, she earned her B.S.N., her M.S.N. in 2009, and in 2014 she earned her Ph.D in Nursing Education. Most recently she was the Associate Director of Students for the ISU School of Nursing, where she also worked as a professor for many years. Nursing was her passion and she loved to share her passion with students.
Linda loved to travel, especially when there was a beach involved. She loved spending time on her boat. Her family was very important to her but her grandkids were her favorite. Linda wasn’t born on a farm, but she got there as soon as she could. Many days were spent gardening, canning, and cooking with her daughter Katelyn. Every week, Linda looked forward to her Friday nights with Jalee, Paisley, Avery, and Ella where she did all the things a gwama should do.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Jim and one sister, Dawn Greenfield.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Darin, two children, Katelyn Griffin (Cody), and Jarot Walters, four grandchildren, Jalee, Paisley, Avery, and Ella, her mother, Julie VanArsdale, four siblings, Jack Goodrich, Danny Goodrich, Jimmy Piker, and James Goodrich, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Cheryl Walters, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 12 from 11-2 at French Funeral Home, 421 E National Avenue in Brazil.
A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.
Cremation will follow.
