The loss dropped Greencastle to 2-4 ahead of this week's contest against Cloverdale.

Heading into Saturday's game against Linton-Stockton, Greencastle head football coach Dave Stephens said his team had played well in spurts.

Against the Miners, the Tiger Cubs did the same, however, it wasn't enough when the dust settled, as Linton-Stockton walked away with a 46-14 victory. The loss dropped Greencastle to 2-4 ahead of this week's contest against Cloverdale.

After a scoreless quarter and a half, Greencastle found an offense and struck first, as quarterback Cole Stephens hit Tevin Long for an 83 yard touchdown pass to put the Tiger Cubs ahead 7-0.

The lead would be short lived as Linton-Stockton turned the keys of the offense back over to Paul Oliver, who had been the starting quarterback but has battled an injury all season. Oliver was able to get the offense going, and hit paydirt from a yard out. Following the two-point conversion, the Miners took an 8-7 halftime lead into the lockers.

Greencastle came out of the locker room on a tear, as Stephens drilled Anthony Adams for a 59 yard touchdown to put the Tiger Cubs ahead 14-8. That would be the last time the Tiger Cubs would be out in front, as the Miners became an absolute buzzsaw in the second half, starting with Hayden Feltner intercepting Stephens for the first time. Stephens would throw three interceptions in the contest.

The Miners would take only two plays to make Greencastle pay for the error, as Oliver hit Russell Goodman on a 41-yard strike to give the Miners a 16-14 lead. Linton-Stockton forced Greencastle to punt on its next possession and Oliver hit Feltner for another touchdown to extend the lead for the Miners.

After an interception by Stephens, Oliver found the end zone again, stretching the lead to 32-14. Moments later, Oliver and Feltner connected again to push the lead to 38-14.

The Tiger Cubs found a tough go of it on the ground, accounting for only 27 yards, while Stephens was 12-of-26 for 222 yards and two touchdowns through the air.
