February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and Blue River Career Programs will be spotlighting its programs and a student from each program Monday through Friday in the Shelby County Post during the month of February.
Today's CTE spotlight is the Auto Collision Repair program taught by Ty Branson.
The Auto Collision Repair program allows students to learn introductory automotive body skills like panel repair, welding, and priming and painting in their first year of the program.
The second-year students will go more in depth with structural repairs while continuing to review and master newly learned skills for entry level employment in the industry.
The Auto Collision Repair student spotlight is on Briesyn Canter (photo).
Canter is a sophomore at Shelbyville High School who attends BRCP’s Auto Collision Repair class in the afternoon. He is a very knowledgeable and hard-working student who has excelled in the classroom and the lab this year.
Canter currently has All A's and is a tremendous addition to the classroom.
