February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and Blue River Career Programs will be spotlighting its programs and a student from each program Monday through Friday in the Shelby County Post during the month of February.
Amber Burch is an alumnus of BRCP’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
“2020-2022 are the years that I was at BRCP. I was originally in health science classes, but then in the CNA class my senior year,” said Burch. “2022 is the year I graduated from Morristown High School. BRCP has had a huge impact on me and my life.
“It allowed me to be prepared for college, since I took dual credit classes at BRCP. It also allowed me to get my CNA license, where I truly learned that I want to help others and become a nurse. It helped me solidify what I wanted to do in college. I will be forever grateful for BRCP and the opportunities that I was provided!”
Burch would not hesitate to recommend the programs at BRCP.
“I would say to any students thinking about BRCP, or even in a BRCP class already, to fully take advantage of everything that BRCP has to offer,” she said. “I loved my teacher, Mrs. Abell, and I think that with her help, I was able to go through many experiences to help me later in life and learn many life lessons while at BRCP.
“I would also say to enjoy your time in high school and at BRCP. I truly loved my time at BRCP, and I know that I have many memories of BRCP that I look back on fondly. So truly take your time and enjoy the experiences you will have while there.”
