Reading adventure begins at local library

Kickoff to Shelby County Public Library starts at 3 p.m. today on the plaza in Shelbyville with outdoor games like giant Jenga and giant Connect Four, karaoke, hot dogs, and snow cones by Snowie.

Get a library card immediately and sign up for the reading tracker app Beanstack. Pick up a reading packet and a summer newsletter until the party ends at 6 p.m.

The Velma Wortman Morristown Branch begins its kickoff party at 3 p.m. Tuesday with snacks, chalk art, crafts, games, and more snow cones by Snowie.

Sign up or renew your library card, and get help with reading app Beanstack if you haven’t used it before.

Adults and children of all ages may take part in the summer reading program. July 20 is the final day to claim hours and qualify for the Twilight Swim on July 22.
