It's almost here. The Rotary Club of Shelbyville's first annual Bourbon and Beast Feast, to be held on Saturday, May 11.
The event will be at 6:00 p.m. at the Suite 415 Music and Event Center (formerly Occasions Banquet Hall), 415 E Hendricks St. in Shelbyville.
There will be an exotic menu that includes Wild Boar Ribs, Blackened Mahi-Mahi, and BBQ Quail together with sides such as apple cranberry cole slaw, rice pilaf and a freshly made Hunters BBQ Sauce. There will also be a variety of bourbon themed desserts.
Music will be provided by Adam and Amanda O'Connor.
A cash bar is also available.
Bourbon tasting will be a main attraction and Shelbyville native Mac Thurston, noted Atlanta spirits vendor and expert, will be the Master of Ceremonies to lead the discussion of the unique qualities of the top shelf bourbons available for tasting.
Special bourbons, known as Allocated Bourbons, will be auctioned off including a 15 year old Pappy Van Winkle. Other items for the live and silent auction include a Black Pearl Necklace, a Green Egg Grilling System, and designer purses.
There will be a drawing for a diamond pendant necklace.
Under 30 tickets remain, they are available for $150 per person, and proceeds of the event will go to Dinner Before Bedtime, a charity that was started by Luke Williams to feed children who go hungry at night, as well as other local charities.
