Several Shelby County students had the opportunity to serve as Senate pages for State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield) in January February.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.
“It was great to see Hoosier students from Senate District 28 visiting the Statehouse – I always enjoy helping them learn more about state government,” said Crider (photo, left). “Thank you to the students that have already visited us, and I look forward to welcoming more to the Statehouse this session.”
Local students that served as pages were:
- Wyatt Armstrong (photo, right), from Shelbyville High School
- Farah Coen, from Triton Central High School
- Lillian Conners, from Shelbyville High School
- Jake Huffman, from Shelbyville High School
- Alexandar Pavey, from Shelbyville High School
- Zoe Woods, from Triton Central Middle School
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
