Street closures start Thursday afternoon for busy Shelbyville weekend

Several Shelbyville street closures are planned to accommodate a busy weekend of downtown activities and the Shelby County Fair parade.

The annual Shelby Senior Services Strawberry Festival and Government Day will be held in the downtown Friday with Taste of Shelby County and the celebration of Major Health Partners 100th anniversary later that evening. The weekly Farmers Market and the Shelby County Fair parade are set for Saturday.


Thursday, 3:30 p.m. - East and West Washington Streets from Harrison Street to the bank drive thru will be closed until Saturday at 1p.m.

Friday, 7:30 a.m. - Harrison Street from Franklin Street to Jackson Street will be closed until Saturday at 1 p.m.

Friday, 2 p.m. - Harrison Street closure extends to Broadway Street until midnight when Harrison Street reopens. East Washington Street from Harrison Street to Pike Street will be closed at this time.

Friday, midnight -  Harrison Street reopens.

Saturday - all streets will be opened back up by 1 p.m. except for Morris Avenue, which will close from Walker Street to Knightstown Road at 2 p.m. for the Shelby County Fair parade and will reopen immediately after the parade ends.
