Johnson County law enforcement wants to put an end to kicking residents doors

Over the past few weeks, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office has seen a spike in incidents involving the social media trend of juveniles kicking doors at random homes.

In a release, the sheriff's office further states these actions are not harmless pranks—they cause property damage, create fear for homeowners, and can quickly escalate into dangerous situations.

Recently, the sheriff's office deployed additional deputies and detectives to patrol the affected areas in an effort to deter this activity. During those patrols, deputies detained nine juveniles for curfew violations.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office will continue to have additional deputies and detectives conducting proactive patrols throughout area communities to put an end to this dangerous trend. Our goal is simple: protect our residents, prevent further property damage, and ensure everyone in our community feels safe.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to have conversations with their children about this trend and to remind them that what may seem like a joke on social media can have serious consequences, including criminal charges, injury, or worse.

The sheriff;s office is also asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individual pictured. The lettering on the back of the sweatshirt appears to read "IRON."
