Indiana State Police troopers, detectives, ISP Central Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, and the Department of Natural Resource officers served an arrest warrant at the Wood's Campgrounds.
A Rush County man has been charged after a lengthy investigation into reports of intimidation.
Indiana State Police troopers, detectives, ISP Central Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, and the Department of Natural Resource officers served an arrest warrant at the Wood's Campgrounds, 10532 N Carthage Pike, Tuesday afternoon after a month-long, multi-agency investigation into a report of intimidation toward Indiana State government officials.
The Indiana State Police Central Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team served the arrest warrant on Richard E. King II, 60, of Carthage, for intimidation. A joint investigation by Indiana State Police detectives and the Department of Natural Resources revealed around July 22, the Indiana Department of Environmental Development received a complaint about the Wood's Campgrounds. When workers contacted the campground to investigate the matter, they reported King made threatening comments over the phone.
Officers took King into custody without further incident and transported him to the Rush County Jail.
King was arrested on preliminary charges of:
(Two counts) Intimidation - committed due to occupation, a Class 6 Felony
(Two counts) Intimidation - a threat to commit a forcible felony, a Class 6 Felony
