Shelby County Cornstock returns to downtown Shelbyville Sunday

Eleven bands will perform in downtown Shelbyville Sunday as part of Shelby County Cornstock.

The family-friendly event starts at 11 a.m. and ends at midnight when the Don Stuck Band caps off the event being held for the third consecutive year on the Public Square.

“Everything has gone really well,” said event organizer D.L. Sanders on GIANT fm radio Friday morning. “I am basically mirroring the same things we did last year. We are utilizing two stages, a band plays for 45 minutes then there is a 15-minute break and a band takes off on the other stage.”

There is no admission fee and spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Food trucks will be operating in downtown Shelbyville during the events and downtown food and drink venues will be open for business.

Garry Lauziere and Michelle Baker Becktel will get the event started Sunday morning and will be followed by The Leah Long Band, Twisted Tiaras, Midnight Smith, Pressed In Black, Big Skies, Chapter 11, Brackish Water Beavers, Medicated Mind, The Barnstormers and Broken Reigns.

The headliner is The Don Stuck Band which will take the stage at 10:30 p.m. and play to midnight.

All of the performers are donating their time for the event. Sanders will once again donate 20% of the net profits to the Shelbyville Central Schools’ lunch fund.

The downtown area will close at 6 a.m. Sunday to facilitate with set up of the event and stay closed for the entirety of the event.
