Amanda Sue (Gilmore) Slattery, 43, of Greenfield

Amanda Sue (Gilmore) Slattery, 43, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle, on November 18, 2024.

Amanda was born on February 1, 1981, in Greenfield to Gary Eugene and Cathie Diane (Huston) Gilmore. She married the love of her life, William Edward Slattery on June 10, 2000.

Amanda’s first love was her faith as it was a bright and shining guiding light in her daily life. She worshipped the Lord to the fullest. She was a prayer warrior for others when their time called for an extra light. Amanda’s second love went out to her children. She loved to spend as much time with them as possible. She called her 3 daughters the greatest blessings in life. She would attend their sporting events, let them listen to “older” songs on the radio, go shopping at the mall, take them on vacations to Michigan, and so much more. Amanda’s heart was big, and her smile even larger. She enjoyed singing and dancing in the car, taking walks, the love and spirit of the Christmas season, letting the sun shine upon her, boating, being outdoors, and cleaning the house. She was a turtle whisperer when she visited her parent’s house. She loved to travel to Silver Beach, MI, and share her experiences on the beach with her children and then take them to one of the best pizza places in town. She and Bill worshipped at Brandywine Community Church. Amanda most recently worked as Greenfield Central High School’s secretary for 4 years. Prior, she worked in the Greenfield Central school systems for 11 years as well as at Noah’s Ark Daycare for 5 years.

Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Bill of 24 years; children: Kaylee Bloomer, Kelsey Slattery, and Kloe Slattery; mother, Diane (Larry) Ervin; sisters, Melissa (Mike) Laker and Rachelle (Jim) Winter; mother-in-law, Juanita Slattery; and nieces and nephews: Kaylie, Nancy, Kailynn, Shay, and Zane.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary; grandparents, Bert & Velma Huston; and father-in-law, James Slattery.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the Slattery family. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 12 - 4:00 p.m. and a service at 4:00 p.m., at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 East New Road, Greenfield, IN 46140.
