Annette Densmore Fero, passed away Wednesday, July 19.

Anne Fero passed away following several years of progressing dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fero, in 2020.

She is survived by sons, Steven Fero of Fishers, Indiana, John Fero of Indianapolis, and a granddaughter, Ellen Fero of Fishers, Indiana. She was the daughter of Alvin M. Densmore, DDS and Edith M. Densmore.

Although Anne lived 49 years in Indiana, she always had fond memories growing up in Western New York State. She was a graduate of Perry Central High School and the University of Rochester. She was an Elementary School Teacher in Rochester in the early 1960s.

In 1964, she married Richard "Dick" Fero. Their four parents had all met as students at Houghton College. Anne raised two boys while Dick's military career took the family to several states, him to Vietnam twice, the family to Seoul, and finally to Shelbyville, Indiana.

For the next forty-five years, Anne made Shelbyville her home. She was active in several organizations including PEO, First United Methodist Church, Garden Club, volunteering at the Children's Museum, and, of course, DOM.

Anne completed a Masters at Butler University and continued substitute teaching in Shelbyville Central Schools. Through the 1980s and 1990s, she taught language and culture classes to Japanese spouses.

When Ellen was born in 2001, Anne loved spending days with her granddaughter visiting at her beautiful home.

A stylish dresser, elegant decorator, and dedicated teacher, mother, and wife, she made an indelible impression on all who knew her and will remember her.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. at W.S. Davis Funeral Home in Arcade, NY, with burial following in Freedom Welsh Cemetery, Freedom, NY.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Friends of the Shelby County Public Library or the Dementia & Alzheimer's Association.
