Marvin Richard "Rick" Hinkle, 69, of Waldron, passed away on August 31, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born May 28, 1954 in Shelbyville to Norman C. Hinkle and Doris M. Hoban Hinkle.
He married Susan J. Beckett on November 25, 1982 and she survives. Other survivors include sons; Sam Hinkle of Southport; Isaac ( Amber ) Hinkle of Waldron; and Noah (Emily) Hinkle of Shelbyville.
He is also survived by one brother, Mick (Cathy) Hinkle of Fishers and five grandchildren: Madison Hinkle, Cameron Hinkle, Beckett Hinkle, Brooks Hinkle, Boone Hinkle, and one grandaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick was a lifetime resident of Shelby County where he was a self-employed farmer. He graduated from Waldron High School, class of 1972 and he also graduated from Indiana University with a degree in medical science. He was a member of the Waldron Masonic Lodge #217 where he was a past master. Rick enjoyed playing music, shooting sports, motorcycle riding, woodworking, and going on vacation with his family.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00 am at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home , 437 Amos Road, with Pastor David Galbraith officiating. Friends may call on Thursday evening, September 7, 2023 from 4-7 pm. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association in care of the funeral home.
