Phillip Scott Whitehouse, 44, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 27, 2024, holding his wife’s hand and in the company of his closest uncle, Anthony Whitehouse.
Phillip was born June 24, 1980, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Vickie Whitehouse.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Wanda Whitehouse. Phillip leaves behind his children Lucas, Ava, Anneliese, Tristan, and Anthony Whitehouse. Phillip is also survived by his mother, Vickie Whitehouse, his identical twin brother, Patrick (Elizabeth) Whitehouse, and mother-in-law, Deborah Magee.Phillip is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bryan Magee.
Phillip was a 1998 graduate of Central Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
He graduated from Purdue University, Magna Cum Laude, in May of 2020, with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
He attended Shelbyville Community Church.
Phillip retired from the United States Army, Military Police Corps after more than 21 years of honorable service. Phillip was awarded the Order of Marechaussee, in Bronze by the Military Police Regimental Association. Phillip was also awarded the Bronze Star with Valor and Purple Heart.
Phillip enjoyed woodworking, going fishing and collecting watches.
He loved participating in his children’s activities, including coaching sports and volunteering at their school events.
Phillip was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and enjoyed a cold “Mountain Dew.”
He was a “SneakerHead” collecting Jordan’s, Nikes, and Cowboy Boots.
He was an excellent cook. Phillip volunteered at the Nazarene Church with feeding the homeless.
Phillip also leaves behind his dogs, Mia and Stryker; and cats, Binx and Holmes.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm, Friday, October 4, 2024, at Shelbyville Community Church, 720 North County Road 325 East, Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 4 pm, Friday, at the church, with Brad Davis officiating, with military rites following.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
