
Kylee Edwards had six hits, including four home runs, to help No. 21 Mississippi State to a 4-1 record at the Bulldog Invitational in Starkville, Mississippi.
Edwards, a Shelbyville graduate, homered in the first four games of the invitational in Mississippi State’s Nusz Park.
She had a two-run home run Friday in a 17-2 win over Alabama State. She followed that with a solo home run in a 6-1 win over New Mexico.
On Saturday, Edwards delivered her fourth home run of the season in a 3-2 win over Northwestern State. Her fifth home run came in a 10-4 win over New Mexico.
Northwestern State avenged its loss Sunday, 5-0, over the Bulldogs. Edwards was hitless in the contest which brought an end to her career long 9-game hit streak as well as her streak of 13 straight games reaching base.
Mississippi State is 18-3 this season.

Brooklyn Bailey
The Triton Central graduate had 14 points and one rebound Wednesday in Kaskaskia’s 84-63 loss to Danville Area Community College.
On Saturday, Bailey finished with eight points, six rebounds and one block for Kaskaskia (7-22) in a 71-46 loss to Parkland College.
Olivia Faust
The Triton Central graduate had 11 points, four rebounds and one assist Wednesday in No. 12 Marian’s 71-55 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio) in the Crossroads League Tournament quarterfinal round contest.
In the semifinal round Saturday, Marian defeated No. 9 St. Francis (Ind.), 67-64 in overtime. Faust had 14 points, one rebound and one steal for the Knights (24-6).
Marian battles No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan tonight in the tournament championship game.
Kyle Crim
The Morristown graduate finished with two assists Friday in Hanover’s 84-69 loss at Anderson in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.
The Panthers finished the season at 16-11.
Drake Moore
The Morristown graduate had one steal for IU Kokomo Wednesday in a 66-46 win over University of Rio Grande (Ohio) in the River States Conference tournament.
IU Kokomo lost to IU Southeast Saturday, 81-78, in the conference tournament’s semifinal round.
The Cougars are 21-9 and will wait until Thursday to see if they receive an at-large berth into the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship Tournament.
Bella Larrison
The Waldron graduate had four points, two rebounds, one assist and three steals for Anderson Friday in a 70-51 loss at Transylvania University (Kentucky) in the HCAC semifinal round of the postseason tournament.
The Ravens finished the season 13-13.
Rylie Stephens
The Triton Central graduate had a game-high 22 points, eight rebounds, one assist and three steals Thursday in West Florida’s 80-53 win over Montevallo.
On Saturday, the Argos defeated Auburn University at Montgomery, 88-66. Stephens finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
West Florida improved to 19-9.
Maya Chandler
The Triton Central graduate had six points, two rebounds and two assists Wednesday in Miami’s 82-72 overtime win at Eastern Michigan that clinched the Redhawks a berth in the Mid-America Conference (MAC) postseason tournament.
On Saturday, Miami defeated Ohio, 62-53. Chandler had 14 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block.
Miami is 18-9 overall and 10-6 in the MAC standings.
Brooke Lipperd
The Shelbyville graduate had a single, a walk and a stolen base Saturday for Franklin College in a game two 10-2 win at Fontbonne in St. Louis.
In the season opener Saturday, Franklin defeated Fontbonne, 14-3.
Cheyenne Eads
The Shelbyville graduate collected her third win of the season Sunday in the University of Indianapolis’ 23-0 win over Lake Erie.
Eads pitched four innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight. She also had two hits, scored three runs and drove in three.
In the second game of the doubleheader, the Greyhounds prevailed again, 11-5. Eads had a double and a walk and drove in another run.
The Greyhounds improved to 8-3.
Erica Henry
The Shelbyville graduate allowed eight hits and six runs Wednesday in IU Columbus’ 15-0 loss at Campbellsville University (Ky.).
Henry also pitched in IU Columbus’ 13-0 loss in game two of the doubleheader.
On Friday, Henry pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 10 hits, in a 15-7 loss against Taylor.
Katie Mathies
DePauw split six games in the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Georgia.
Mathies had one hit and scored a run Friday in a season-opening 10-2 loss to Case Western Reserve. The Tigers followed that Friday with a 7-6 win over Belhaven in which Mathies had a home run and drove in two runs.
On Saturday, DePauw won its opener 15-7 over Stevens. Mathies had a single, two walks and drove in a run. St. John Fisher defeated the Tigers 1-0 later Saturday.
DePauw defeated Alma 8-1 Sunday. Mathies had a walk and drove in a run. The Tigers closed out the event with an 11-5 loss to East Texas Baptist. Mathies had a double and drove in two runs.
Charlie Rife
The Shelbyville graduate smashed a three-run home run in the fifth inning Friday that gave Bellarmine an 8-6 lead at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina. The Knights could not hold on to the lead and lost 17-10.
On Saturday, Charleston Southern defeated Bellarmine, 12-8. Rife had a single, walked twice and scored two runs.
The Knights closed out the three-game series Sunday with a 10-5 win. Rife had three hits and scored two runs to help Bellarmine earn its first win of the season.
Addysyn Wettrick
The Shelbyville graduate made her collegiate debut for Manchester softball Saturday in a doubleheader at Asbury University (Ky.).
Wettrick was a pinch-runner in a 5-2 game one win. In game two, Wettrick walked and was hitless in her other at bat in a 10-2 loss.
Karissa Hamilton
No. 24 ranked Kentucky finished 4-1 at the Western Kentucky Tournament in Bowling Green.
The Wildcats lost their opener Friday, 7-5 to Evansville. Hamilton, a Shelbyville graduate, had a single and a walk.
Kentucky defeated Western Kentucky later Friday, 7-5. Hamilton walked twice and scored a run.
On Saturday, Hamilton had two hits and a walk in a 4-3 win over Tennessee Tech. The Wildcats then defeated Western Kentucky for a second time, 8-5.
Kentucky closed out its schedule Sunday, avenging its loss to Evansville, 8-0. Hamilton had a single and drove in a run to get the Wildcats’ record to 14-6.
Kina Schultz
The Shelbyville graduate finished 17th in the 60 meter hurdles (10.45 seconds) for Muskingum in the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Ada, Ohio.

At Anderson University, five Shelby County athletes competed for their respective schools.
Madalyn Hudnall
The Waldron graduate broke her own Mount St. Joseph program record in the shot put with a throw of 12.49 meters that earned her third place.
Hudnall also finished fifth in the weight throw with a personal best distance of 13.68 meters.
Bailey Stamper
The Triton Central graduate finished 12th in the shot put (8.92 meters) and 12th in the weight throw (9.98 meters) for Franklin College.
Brayden Wilkins
The Triton Central graduate placed ninth in the 60 meters (7.12 seconds), eighth in the 200 (23.16) and was part of Franklin College’s fifth-place finish in the 4x200 relay (1:32.34).
Connor Duncan
The Shelbyville graduate finished 16th in the weight throw (9.75 meters) for Franklin College.
Michael Fox
The Shelbyville graduate finished 17th in the 5,000 (16:31.27) and was part of Manchester’s fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay (3:35.03).
