
Olivia Faust scored 13 points and collected seven rebounds, one assist and two steals Saturday in Marian’s 76-66 win over Milligan University to secure the program’s fifth-consecutive NAIA First & Second Round championship and advance to the NAIA Tournament Final Site for the 11th straight season.
The Knights advanced in the tournament Friday with a 73-63 overtime victory over Saint Xavier (Ill.). Faust (photo, center) did not score in the win but had one rebound, one assist and two steals.
The Knights improved to 26-7 with Saturday’s win and will face the University of the Cumberlands Thursday at 9 p.m. (EST) in Sioux City, Iowa. Those two teams met on Nov. 16 in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where Cumberlands prevailed, 103-99 in triple overtime.

Maya Chandler
The Triton Central graduate scored a game-high 23 points and had two rebounds, two assists and two steals Wednesday in Miami’s 68-61 loss to Kent State in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Redhawks (19-11) earned an At-Large berth and a bye in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (NIT) and will play the winner of Duquesne (19-12) and Longwood (22-11) in the second round.
Rylie Stephens
The Triton Central graduate finished with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds Friday for West Florida in a 70-56 loss to Embry-Riddle in Jackson, Tennessee.
The Argos finished 20-12 and made their first appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament since 2019.
Cheyenne Eads
The University of Indianapolis softball team wrapped up a 10-game road trip by splitting a pair of games Sunday in Liberty, Missouri.
The Greyhounds defeated William Jewell, 7-1, in game one of the doubleheader. Eads, a Shelbyville graduate, was the winning pitcher, tossing a complete game and allowing three hits and two walks while striking out nine.
William Jewell won game two, 8-6, to end the Greyhounds’ road trip with a 4-6 record.
Indianapolis started the trip on March 10 with a 10-1 loss to Glenville State and 2-1 loss in eight innings to Hillsdale in the opening day of The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida.
Eads took the loss against Hillsdale, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out 11.
On Tuesday, Eads drove in three runs in an 11-7 win over Saint Martin’s. Eads then earned the win in a 9-1 victory over Shepherd. She allowed seven hits and struck out four in the five-inning victory.
On Thursday, the Greyhounds finished the Florida part of the trip with a 4-2 win in eight innings over Indiana (Pennsylvania) and 1-0 loss to Bemidji State.
Against Indiana, Eads had two hits, including a double, and a RBI. She earned the win in the pitcher’s circle, going all eight innings and allowing eight hits, one walk and striking out five.
Eads pitched 2.2 innings of relief and did not allow a hit and struck out two in the loss to Bemidji State.
The Greyhounds split a doubleheader Saturday at Rockhurst in Kansas City, Missouri. Eads took the loss in the opener, allowing five hits and striking out four in a 6-0 loss.
In a 19-9 win in game two, Eads had a double and a walk, scored two runs and drove in two runs.
Indianapolis is 15-11 this year.
Erica Henry
The Shelbyville graduate earned the win for IU Columbus on March 10, tossing four innings, allowing four hits and one run in a 12-4 win over Grace Christian University in Columbus, Indiana.
IU Columbus won the first game of the doubleheader, 8-6.
On Wednesday, Brescia University swept IU Columbus in a doubleheader, 2-1 and 8-6. Henry took the loss in game two, allowing seven hits and all eight runs.
IU Columbus is 5-11 this season.
Karissa Hamilton
The Shelbyville graduate had three hits for the University of Kentucky in a weekend series at LSU.
The No. 4 ranked Tigers defeated No. 23 Kentucky, 4-1 Friday. Hamilton went 1-3 at the plate. She did not have a hit Saturday in a 6-4 loss.
On Sunday, Hamilton had two hits in an 8-2 loss that dropped Kentucky to 17-10 (3-3 SEC).
Kylee Edwards
The Shelbyville graduate helped Mississippi State win its first ever series at Alabama.
On Friday, No. 19 Mississippi State defeated No. 23 Alabama, 9-1, in the first of two games in Tuscaloosa. Edwards had two hits, including a 3-run home run that closed out the scoring.
Alabama responded with a 7-4 win in game two Friday. Edwards had a walk in the loss.
The Bulldogs rallied for a 4-3 win Sunday to earn the SEC series victory. Edwards had a hit to reach base in all three games.
Mississippi State improved to 24-5 (5-1 SEC).
Charlie Rife
The Shelbyville graduate had a solo home run and drove in two runs Friday to help Bellarmine secure the baseball program’s first ever shutout against a Division I opponent.
The Knights opened the Atlantic Sun series with a 10-0 win at Eastern Kentucky.
Bellarmine lost game two Saturday, 2-1. Rife had a single in his only trip to the plate.
On Sunday, Eastern Kentucky secured the series victory with an 8-7 win. Rife had a single, a walk, scored a run and drove in a run.
Bellarmine is 4-15 (1-2 ASUN) this season.
